It’s almost hard to imagine, but here we are five years after I began continuously sounding the cry as a political pundit on television and radio that Donald Trump should run for president because he’d win. I’d like to say I’m not one of those people to say “I told you so,” but I can’t help myself. So here’s to all the naysayers and jerks who told me I was nuts. You’ll be seeing President-elect Donald Trump in the Oval Office on January 20th, and I couldn’t be happier.
For those who question my magic powers of seeing into the future, I have all the television, radio, and blogs should you question my power of presidential prognostication. Actually, in this case, it’s more like recognizing Mr. Trump’s abilities as a leader and how he embodies what our country is all about.
There are lots of Benedict Arnolds and opportunistic asses out there. To them I’ll say, please just go away and don’t ask Mr. Trump for jobs and favors.
It’s truly amazing how many pundits were totally out to lunch on this election. Particularly shocking were the Republicans who were out bashing their own candidate. Shame on you and maybe you should be doing something else.
So now the team forms. I am very pleased that Steve Bannon will become Chief Advisor and Strategist. As you may recall, I wrote a blog about how he’ll lead Mr. Trump to victory, and he did! Bannon is the General we need—tough and an all-American patriot. I’m also happy to see Kelly Ann Conway in a key position even though we had an epic fight on Fox & Friends a few years ago. I respect a challenge, and I’m very grateful for all she did to help Mr. Trump win.
I’m also soooo very happy about Mike Pence who I’ve known forever. I said in another blog that he would be perfect and solid as a rock. Now Mike is heading the Transition Team. He’s very smart, organized, and thoughtful, and I hope many Hoosiers are rewarded in the Administration since they played such a key role at an important time in turning the tide during the primary.
I’d also love to see Ted Cruz on the Supreme Court. He is a solid conservative who came very close to becoming our party’s nominee. Ted is young so he’d be on the Court for a very long time and he has the education, background, and experience (clerking for the Supreme Court) to make a great Justice. He’s certainly cut in the mold of Justice Antonin Scalia who we still mourn as conservatives. We need someone up to the task of filling those very big shoes and I strongly believe that Ted is that person.
Another great choice in the Administration would be my fellow Red Girls Salon blogger, Monica Samuels. She would have been in the Bush White House but decided to be a mom instead which is admirable, but now she can commit the time.
Finally, it’s also wonderful in Indiana to have Eric Holcomb and Todd Young win. Everyone should look to the Hoosier state on how to get things done.
That’s all for now but there’s more to come. I’m so happy to be writing about this wonderful time instead of what could have been with Hillary trying to make our country into Europe or the United Nations.
With President-elect Trump leading the way, Steve Bannon providing guidance, and Mike Pence’s steady hand and leadership, we will certainly make America great again!
