Would You Permit a Politician to Grope You for Free Birth Control?

Can the Bob Filner story get any worse?

Filner is the current mayor of San Diego and former congressman for a district representing that area.  Each day more and more women are coming forward with stories of sexual harassment by Mayor Filner.  It got so bad that the mayor finally checked himself into a two week behavior treatment program in an effort to help him stop groping, slobbering, insulting, and disgusting (just take a look at him) women across southern California.

The list of women Mayor Filner has laid his filthy mitts on is so long and growing that the only women in San Diego who haven’t received this sort of treatment by him are probably just the ones fortunate enough never to have run into him.

While in Congress, Filner served as Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.  This week, female veterans who were victims of sexual assault came forward to describe their own disturbing experiences with Mayor Filner. Accounts of Filner’s behavior with these women demonstrates a pattern of behavior not only boorish but creepily predatory, too.

By the way, Mayor Filner is a Democrat.

Interestingly, so too are two other men who’ve also publicly demonstrated the utmost disrespect for women.  First, there is New York City mayoral candidate, Anthony Weiner, who not only engaged in Internet sexting with young women and then lied about it, but who also left his wife hanging out to dry (although she is complicit in that part of the story).  Then there is former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, whose appetite for prostitutes resulted in his exit from office.

Yes, these Democrats certainly have a way with women.

President Obama is taking great care not to comment on these matters despite his propensity for sharing his thoughts on other events having nothing to do with either foreign policy or the economy.

Perhaps even he is slightly embarrassed.  After all, wasn’t it the Democrats who spent the entire 2012 election cycle claiming that Republicans were engaging in a War on Women?

Mostly, Democrats based this campaign pitch on Republican opposition to mandatory free contraceptives.  Sure, a few Republican men said some very insensitive things during the election cycle that rubbed many women the wrong way (not to be confused with how the Democrats do it which is evidently quite literally), but most of these foolish remarks were just gasoline poured on the fire when Republicans dismissed the idea that taxpayers shouldn’t be responsible for everyone’s birth control.

In fairness, there are Republican men out there who don’t know how to treat or talk about women. When I was Chairman of Young Republicans, I personally encountered two who might very well have considered joining Mayor Filner in treatment, but neither of them was out claiming their superiority in dealing with women’s rights either.

This is what always galls me about Democrats.  They are incredibly hypocritical.  It’s not just in this area either.  How about those limousine liberals?  They are all for raising the taxes of small business people trying to get ahead because they know personally they won’t be bothered too much.  Besides, it makes them feel good to be so generous with other people’s money and thus beloved by the “little people” (who I guarantee would get nothing more than a restraining order if they ever got too close to them).

When 2014 rolls around, I hope the whole War on Women campaign by the Democrats comes to an abrupt halt. Otherwise, I might just start my own War on Women campaign featuring Filner, Weiner, and Spitzer as the Democrats’ poster boys.
