President Obama’s Rose Garden ceremony celebrating the release of Bowe Bergdahl from a terrorist group affiliated with the Taliban in exchange for five high ranking Taliban leaders at Guantanamo Bay, along with Susan Rice’s Sunday morning pronouncements on the subject, would have the public thinking that Bergdahl is some sort of hero.
As the facts come out, it is becoming more and more evident that this is not the case.
The true heroes are members of the military who risked life and limb looking for Bergdahl after he walked away from his post in 2009.
Specifically, the following six brave men who died in that search are the true heroes. If anyone should be honored with Rose Garden events and tickertape parades, it is them.
Here are their names. Look them up and learn more about them:
Staff Sergeant Clayton Bowen, 29, San Antonio, Texas
Private 1st Class Morris Walker, 23, Chapel Hill, NC
Staff Sergeant Kurt Curtiss, 27, Murray, Utah
2nd Lieutenant Darryn Andrews, 34, Dallas, Texas
Staff Sergeant Michael Murphrey, 25, Snyder, Texas
Private 1st Class Matthew Martinek, 20, DeKalb, Illinois
Never forget these brave men. They are the ones who served honorably on the field of battle and should be honored as such.
